You and Death

by Lasse Rindom

You have said you wish to die

when we are something greater

that you have accomplished,

and you are right.

I also want to die

the death that is your face

the moment before you awaken

and all the world's graves begin to bloom.

When death is no longer heavy,

you are the greatest

centre of gravity

and I burn in the fall

towards your cheek's microscopic

craters.

All of life

I can't say anything about

until you awaken

and bury a kiss

deep down in the atmosphere

like a spiral of magma

in my mouth.

When death no longer has meaning

you do.
